The shoot covered a mix of locations, from inner-city streets to the winding roads of the Black Spur. Each setting brought different restrictions for access, space, and light. The Artura’s recent release meant visibility was limited, with few opportunities to present the car publicly. A major consideration throughout was keeping the car’s body shape accurate in every frame, ensuring its design was properly represented.
Under the direction of Optical Wander (Sam), we adapted our approach for each environment. Lighting and positioning were adjusted on the move to bring out the car’s form in both urban and scenic settings. Shots were reviewed in real time, which allowed us to make quick corrections and ensure accuracy. This kept the production controlled while still moving efficiently across multiple locations.
The final imagery positioned the McLaren Artura across both lifestyle and performance contexts. Shared through Optical Wander’s channels, the work gave the new model early exposure supported by a strong set of visuals.
